President Bush signed legislation today extending unemployment benefits for 2.5 million victims of a weak economy, despite Democratic protests that the measure didn't go far enough. Bush also hosts a bipartisan congressional leadership meeting in the Cabinet Room of the White House, which included the new Republican Majority Leader, Bill Frist. The President also marked the one-year anniversary of the 'No Child Left Behind Act' in a ceremony and speech in the East Room. He also announced that First Lady Laura Bush would be taken a more active roll in education, saying that, "this year she's going to spend a lot of time working with the local folks to achieve excellence for every single child." Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: We look forward to rewarding teachers who are not only lending their hearts, but their talents, to make sure no child gets left behind. We look forward to a culture in America that understands every child can learn. And we look forward to the day that no child in this country is ever left behind.
