How many of those factory jobs were eliminated because of excessive taxation and regulation? I suspect a large portion of them.
Try building a manufacturing facility of any kind and see how many regulatory hurdles, especialy environmental, you have to overcome before a single shovel breaks ground.

Why would that be a surprise? There are ALOT more people in the lower bracket than the higher..the question is on the amount of income reported by the individuals..My guess is it could be thousands in the top bracket and $100 in the lower ones..
Again I have no problem as such with the cuts..but to try to sell them as for the economy is a joke

Well - I'll be honest with you - I'd rather see tax cuts with proportionate spending cuts...

But what about the vessel with the pessel?

Thanks you speak the truth...but class warfare is alive and well in America..and the jealousy that goes with it. There are some that would rather see fellow citizen in poverty and send $$ to China so they can feel superior to the high school educated industrail worker making more than they do
jealousy

Democrap logic - When the market goes down only the little people are affected... when market goes up only the rich benefit.

Spending cuts...well, Bush did mention that Congress must maintain discipline. We'll see what happens. It's awfully tough to do a spending cut when even a reduction in the rate of increase is considered a cut in Washington! If he can just keep the budget neutral then I'll be happy. I'd love to see cuts too but I'm not holding my breath. Those congresscriters just love to spend money.

Effectively, she denied that tax cuts in the Reign of Reagan did anything to stimulate the economy. Neil Cavuto called her on this and said , Then what the hell(my word!) do you think led to the longest period of economic prosperity this country has ever experienced.
She is in deep denial.

Gov states (GAO) say most large international corps pay no taxes..and the regulation could have been resolved here . Instead we have a government office that helps them leave with our tax dollars...

The factories that I know sufficient details about to discuss were making it in spite of horrendous taxation and environmental regs that were beyond stupid. A friend of mine liked to point out that the water discharged from his plant was clean enough to sell as bottled water.
It was the GATT/NAFTA China crap that finished them. They might have lasted longer without the huge tax burdens and the socialist nitpickers, but when all of their ingenuity and hard work and price/cost cutting can be wisked away with the wave of some neo mandarins hand it's over.
Doesn't matter how low their prices go, the Chinese simply reduce theirs to fifty per cent less.
This is the fatal illness of America. The tax cuts and programs are only symptomatic treatments.

Unless you are a corporation or wealthy they will not help much..do not get excited..the side to banana republic is right on trackThis statement is wrong. There were plenty of proposals that will help middle class wage earners.
BTW, Corporation don't pay taxes. They merely collect them from consumers. The "Wealthy" don't pay taxes teh same as you or I, as they don't have or need income as do you and I. The "Rich" (incomes over about $92k) don't get to keep anywhere near enough to actually get 'rich'.
I am in favor of elimating the marriage tax ..and uping the dependant deduction..but neither of those things will do what is needed most ..create jobs here
That wasn't the pont to begin with, was it? Or are you just making a moving target with each counter point?
The government cannot "create" jobs. When families have more income they can buy more which spurs the need for supplies. When small businesses can keep more money and pay less taxes, they will be inclined to grow and add jobs. Lowering taxes on Dividends and personal income will affect job growth.
Now if you want to attack NAFTA, that is a totally different story.
To: RnMomof7
Hummmm... ALL the rich people are creating jobs in China and Mexico? You have the numbers to back that up? And, heaven forbid we wouldn't want the rich to be rich or the corporations to make money now, would we?

Actually, if you really want to have an impact on the economy, you would favor a tax cut for the rich.
The rich tend to by more luxury items such as yachts, luxury cars, vacation homes, etc., as well as frequenting restaurants and vacation resorts, etc. All of this helps the working man far more than just a tax cut for the working man. Of course, I like the idea of tax cuts for the working man too. I think we should all pay lower taxes. We can do this easily by cutting out social services and other forms of welfare.

Thanks.

>Listen. Corporations pay NO taxes. NONE. WE as consumers pay them in higher prices and as employees in reduced wages and benefits.<
Corporations make NO profit!. NONE!
It's all taken up by the employees, the government, and the shareholders!
