look don't get me wrong - I like G2 - but not everyone agrees with this economic package as evidenced by recent polls that say
Americans would rather not have a tax cut...
this economic package does not have mass appeal....
we here at FR do like tax cuts, but not everyone agrees with the notion that more and more tax cuts benefit the economy more...
To: DLfromthedesert
Put this in perspective...we would rather see the peoples' money in the hands of the people....not the democraps!

To: RnMomof7
Unless you are a corporation or wealthy they will not help much..do not get excited..the side to banana republic is right on track Those evil corporations and rich guys might be able to give you a job or, if you already have a job, keep you on staff.

now all the rich people are creating jobs in China and Mexico..but don't worry you can always move I'll have to ask my boss, the owner of the company I work for, who is very wealthy when he will be moving my job to Mexico or China. I suspect his answer will be NEVER.
And we are a very small company. 9 employees, including my boss who is also the owner.
He is a very wealthy man by most peoples standard. House over a million dollars, 80K car, a 500,000 second home at the beach, etc...
He, a rich man and owner of an LLC hired me. Not the welfare broadmare down the street.

So do you disagree that Bush's plan will stimulate the economy, or are you just concerned that it won't be "well received"?
If you think that it will work, whether it is well received now or not doesn't matter. Once the economy picks up, the majority will be on-board.
If you don't agree with his plan, what do you suggest instead?

Unless something is done about the Alternative Minimum Tax, relief for married people and people with children will simply be slurped right back up again.

Baloney! Have you seen the poll numbers? Well over 60% (some numbers reach 80%) approve of the elimination of the marriage penalty, increasing the child care credit, accelerating the current tax cuts, etc.
This does have mass appeal. I heard the speech on the radio. W was great and made perfect sense. It will be well received by the American people.

Those jobs in which our workers are wasting their time and talent doing. If someone's work is worth 50k, it shouldn't be spent on an assembly line, they should be putting their 50k talent to work where it would be more efficient. That is not true..Hi teck and engineering jobs are moving to India and China..some pink collar bank and marketing jobs are gone to India...and all those industrial jobs ..the ones that paid enough to raise a family on, and contribute to the tax base.....well you do not give a damn about them do you? Most of those men are sweeping floors and washing toilets and using public funds to fill in the holes and to top it off ..and they get to compete with the Mexicans that will do it for a dollar a day
Let them eat cake

please don't get me wrong - but IMHO I think his numbers are going to go south soon...
wait till the dems start to spin all of this...
if G2 had played this economic package to the public instead of his patriotic tune after 9-11 we wouldn't have control of The WH, Senate and Congress...

What did Geraldine have to say? Heard Rush say he would mention it during his third hour but had to get back to work.
To: MrB
I can think of quite a few guys who would dearly love to have their old factory jobs back at $15 to $18 an hour.
Guys with houses and kids who are doing handyman or maintenence work or
bagging groceries for near minimum wage.
Guys who were once middle class.
Honest hard working men who will not see things improve for them in any forseeable future.
To: RnMomof7
My job can't be done from China. So I have no fears, no matter how large the company gets.
To: krodriguesdc
So, what would you propose? Are you against tax cuts? Criminy, I thought his speech was a beauty and I love the proposals.

recent polls that say Americans would rather not have a tax cut... Somehow that is hard to believe... Althought, I'm sure those Americans who recieve money from the gov't -employees and welfare recipients feel that way.
