THE ASSOCIATED PRESS PITTSBURGH -- In the latest in a string of vandalism carried out in the name of the Earth Liberation Front, members of the radical group are claiming responsibility for a fire at a Pennsylvania auto dealership.
A posting on the group's Web site said the "attack" targeted SUVs in a fight "to remove the profit motive from the killing of the natural environment."

I have had it with these people and would like to catch some of them around my place. They would not be leaving it under their own power.

The FBI has dubbed the Earth Liberation Front a "domestic terrorist organization."
If that's the case, why aren't their funds being frozen, their leaders systematically hunted down, and their followers prosecuted under the full weight of the law?

I saw the title and thought that Santa's helpers were on strike...dont they know it is time to get busy for Christmas 2003.

The courage of these people never ceases to amaze me. Burning cars in an isolated parking lot. That's up there with the bravery of tree-spikers. /sarcasm off
Fortunately, they're as incompetent as they are cowardly. 3 bombs went off. 3 were duds. That's only a 50% success rate. Only an environmentalist would be able to fail at setting gasoline on fire.

A posting on the group's Web site said the "attack" targeted SUVs in a fight "to remove the profit motive from the killing of the natural environment." Once again, members of the Looney Left display their complete ignorance of business and economics.

I experienced a run-in with the Earth First bretheren of these scum in Northern Arizona. They pepper the logging roads with steel caltrops to blow out truck tires. "Save a tree, kill a logger" was their motto. Leftists reveal their true origins by an absence of respect for life or property.

"Save a tree, kill a logger" was their motto. Leftists reveal their true origins by an absence of respect for life or property. No doubt these are the same people who strongly decry the vandalism of abortion clinics or the murder of abortionists.
At least we on the right are consistent in our views. We decry any and all disrespect for life or property, no matter what the political philosophy that engendered it.

Note to self: Remind Norman Lear and Arianna Huffington to notify local ELF representatives that Terry McAuliffe drives a Cadillac Escalade and Dick Gephardt drives a Chevy Suburban. Daschle has been seen in a Ford Expedition.

Full of gas
A new buzzword to relish: "SUV Democrats," this courtesy of the American Spectator.
"DNC chief Terry McAuliffe is driving around town in a giant Cadillac Escalade that gets about 10 miles to the gallon. House minority leader Dick Gephardt╢s Ford SUV gets just a little more mileage out of its tankful of fuel. And Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle? His staff won╢t say what he drives at home, preferring to point to a more economical GM luxury car he gets driven around in when in the capital. But after the Democratic leaders learned that Republican operatives were driving around town filming their gas-guzzling cars at the same time that these honchos were saying the Bush energy plan was folly, the DNC is making a move to put the men in more fuel-efficient automobiles," the magazine notes on its Web site.
"Those SUVs are going into the garage and you╢ll see them all in more modest wheels before this energy debate gets hot," says a DNC source, who says that Mr. Gephardt already has arranged to have a sedan and driver tool him around town for the next few weeks. Ditto Mr. McAuliffe. "We aren╢t going to let the Republicans point the finger at us for being wasteful with energy," says the DNC source.
"We're smarter than that."

I'm surprised that citizen's haven't formed muscle squads in the areas that are targets of these terrorists. You know, three or four guys with that fondness for bare kunckle conversations, the kind that punctuate their rebuttals with intense sensations to certain sensitive body parts?
These ELP punks may not publish their names to law enforcement, but I'm willing to bet locals in an area know who they are, or can keep the ear to the ground and find out. Then that squad can visit to give their side of the argument, and award the punk with a brief hospital stay to meditate on the persuasiveness of those points.
I would have expected this would have started to happen by now, after each terrorist attack. I wouldn't think it would have mattered if the particular punk was involved; it would matter that soon all ELF lifeforms would understand the price for their position.
I'm really concerned that some guys around the country would actually do something so brutal to these misguided children. I really am.
