Jeff, We may all just have to go back to K-Falls when they try to shut the water off again and give them another teaching.

"WHAT IS A PATRIOT" PATRIOTS are not "Revolutionaries" trying to overthrow the government of the United States.
PATRIOTS are "Counter-Revolutionaries" trying to prevent the government of the United States from overthrowing the Constitution of the United States. - Unknown Author
What brings the PATRIOTS out of the woodwork?
When the constitutional process, the system of checks and balances set up by the Founders, has not just been thrown out of kilter, it has been thrown out the window. These socialist maneuvers are what attracts PATRIOTS to the streets of America.

I've fallen in that very river myself & was carried downstream a bit. I'm lucky if I can ever have children again, if you know what I mean. The Klamath River is approaching the southern boundary of chinook range anyways.

This is what I wrote on the klamathbasincrisis forum, about the state of Cal writing this damn report, when they are taking the most of the water from Trinity river, thus causing the problem.
??Did you know that This three week heavy rain event from Dec 8 to end of month, put 200,000 ac ft of water into Trinity reservoir. It put almost a million ac ft into Shasta reservoir over the hill. And the other Sacramento/San Joaquin reservoirs added another 2 million acre feet. And our reservoir UKL went up 60,000 acre ft....This info is at California CDEC website. Now why in the world can't the state of Cal, just give the little extra water that Trinity/Klamath lower river needs when the fish are coming in, instead of writing a God Damned, crooked ,malicious report like this.
When fish came in to lower river this fall, Upper basin had stored in UKL only a 150,000 ac ft, while over in Trinity lake there was 1.5 million. In a dry year!!!Some of which may have helped fish. And while the upper basin was shorting itself it was flowing almost twice as much as the powers to be were giving the Trinity.
Cal greens and politicos figures upper basin is expendable, and seems to be allowing it to be destroyed, hoping it will give the greenie buzzards a piece of meat to leave the rest of the state alone.Upper basin folks, you must get after the powers, congressmen, etc to have the Trinity flows up when needed for runs. Now if water is shorted over the hill, because Trinity is fixed they can use wells, as they have much bigger aquifer, to make up the difference...Ed "definately pissed" Hubel.""
-----------
PS-We all need to get after Congress to balance the Trinity flows up.Ed.

The funny thing is they have found that the chub sucker fish does better in more shallow water.
Now if they could only do something about those midgies!

Midgies are fine...Good for the Lake's food chain & the colossal trout!

They don't taste too bad either! (The trout) Just make sure you have plenty of washer fluid and a squeegy at dawn and dusk in July!

There was very good coverage of this on Free Republic. And people who were there took pictures of a completly full lake.
Fish can be raised but bankrupt farmers/families can't recover. That irrigation system was started for the farmers , not the fish.
But if you will swallow this hook , there's some cheap land available in Florida. If you want to grow rice.
If we don't stand up for each other pretty soon , there will be nothing left to stand up for. Except which country we shove the UN on next.

I've been blinded several times driving along the east & south side of the lake. Coming home from the Williamson in July is particularly hazardous! The trout in the summertime don't suit my tastes unless you can get them out of the Williamson.
To: AuntB
Same to you B...hope you survived all that December rain.

I know what you mean! I left for Portland just before daybreak once and really got plastered! We had to pull over at the stations by Chiloquin. Then that night on the return we came by at dusk and had the same thing happen!
I agree the trout taste better in the spring out of the lake. I never fished the Williamson but have heard what you said!
