VIGILANTE He may not have known when or what they will hit, but U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft warned Americans that terrorists were plotting ... something. Then he went on to tackle a different sort of adversary, announcing a tentative settlement of the Microsoft antitrust suit
Poor John Ashcroft...I'm not arguing that he's not a good and decent man, but he's simply been shell-shocked ever since the confirmation hearings and is either unwilling or unable to do the job for which he was hired. A lot of very good FReeper FRiends told me to wait until he had time to rid the DOJ of the bad apples left over from the Clinton Administration and then we'd see Justice done...but that's simply not going to happen as long as Ashcroft is in charge!!
Time to put him out to pasture so he can enjoy his grandkids and a private practice and playing piano on Letterman...he's certainly no Attorney General worth his salt!!
