No, more oil was used during manufacture than saved. Big old diesel trucks had to haul a lot of copper or a nickel ore to make these things.
There should be a congressional investigation, before we bet our future on this. Let Toyota explain to us just how this a "green" car.

No, more oil was used during manufacture than saved. Big old diesel trucks had to haul a lot of copper or a nickel ore to make these things. I find it hard to believe that deisel trucks will be using MORE oil compared to the amt of oil saved from cars that will be off the road.
