Coho salmon are nominally the property of the state. The federal government has no proper role with respect to the management of the state's fish and wildlife resources. The salmon are abundant, and not in any threat of extinction whatsoever; the federal protections are premised upon lies.

The state manages logging to protect the coho resource. State law already prevents clear cutting that would fill streams with sediment. The ESA expansion proceeds because an army of psychotic Clintonistas wishes to shut down all logging, and remains in operational control of Western federal agencies.

You seem to see neither the underlying policy considerations, nor the more important considerations of limiting federal control vis-a-vis the states. A Free Republic requires greater awareness among its citizens.

I agree, however, don't you think the feds have managed to gain control by perverting the "commerce clause" claiming since these are interstate rivers, they have control by virtue of "interstate commerce"?
