SINCE THE DEADLY anthrax mailings more than a year ago, the government's public focus has shifted from the crime to measures necessary to combat bioterrorism and make such attacks more difficult in the future. ....

This record is all the more disturbing because more than a year after the anthrax was let loose through the mail, U.S. authorities have made no arrests.

It wouldn't surprise me if the cartel guys have already been co-opted into assisting. After all, their only motivation is $$$, and Osama's boys have plenty.

That's possible, but getting a 100# cargo into the USA is such a triviality that I could think of 100 ways to do it in an hour.

Relying purely on hope that Saddam has not positioned 100# (or 1,000#) of anthrax in the USA in cached crates of glass jars is worse than the Ango French armies relying purely on hope that the Nazis could not attack through the Ardennes.
