Perhaps so........or perhaps they just had to have the absence of the demonic intervention that usually robs them of victory over Michigan, even when they are the vastly superior team........ :o)

Great pic! And we southern Californians sure do miss him too....'cause when Ohio State showed up in Pasadena (and it seemed to be just about every year), it was great fun.

And the best fun for us was when poor old Bo Schembechler and his Michiganders would make the trip, absolutely guaranteeing a win for our side.

It's wonderful when it's time to go home! Did neighborhood babysitters go out of style or am I a sucker of a gramma? I'd be glad to pay someone else if it's a money thing with the boys. :)

Tressell is an intelligent classy individual and a terrific coah. He has done wonders for Ohio State football. He deserves to receive the Coach of the Year award.

Thanks! Yes, that was it. I loved Woody and the crowd went crazy when he came out! As good as they are this year, nothing can compare to the Woody years! We went to New Orleans to watch them play Texas A&M and it was a wild time! It looked like Mardi Gras!

I'm glad you're just kidding, 'cause around here we don't even say the M word.....we just refer to "that place up north"...........with great condescension, of course. :o)

Well, actually, good babysitters just got too expensive.

I'm a teacher......formerly in public and private schools. Someone figured out that if teachers got paid standard babysitting wages they'd all be earning over $100,000 a year!

I'll bet the "Americans United for Separation of Church" and State are having a cow over this situation. I mean these people are praying in a government institution! Can't we send in the national guard or something? How are the atheist youth of Ohio supposed to feel? I just know this has something to do with John Ashcroft. If only Janet were still the AG, we'd give these fundamentalists something to pray about.

You were part of THE Band??? How cool is that??!

What instrument did you play? I used to play a brass instrument and had I gone to OSU undergrad (I went to graduate school there), I would have tried like crazy to get into that BEST band in the land!

I was in the band from 76-80 and played the alto horn which have since been replaced with mellophones. The band was a great college experience. I was never able to travel much as a kid but in 5 years went to 5 different bowl games. I guess that was the sliver lining in loosing to UM 4 out of 5 years - we went elsewhere. Unlike some friends in the band before me that were in school the same years as Archie - 4 straight Rose Bowls. To them a final year in the band spent at the Orange Bowl was a great difference.

Oh, man! I played the French Horn in concert band, and marched with the now extinct alto horn too!

What a great experience to be part of that wonderful band! You must have fabulous memories! Kudos to you, and your musicianship that allowed you to be part of it!

LOL! Tough luck for the atheists at Ohio State!

Actually, I've been wondering if it's OK to pray about this game tomorrow night. I make it a practice not to bring sporting events into my prayers, but I may make an exception in this case. :o)

Go ahead and pray. He'll either honor your prayer or deny it. Either way, He won't get mad unless He's for Miami! I don't know why something that doesn't exist bothers the bejeesus out of atheists. It's akin to believing in the boogey man. They would prefer we didn't believe in anything but them. Anyway, I'm praying for a good game. That way I won't offend God and He might pull through for me. LOL!

I remember the Pittsburg Steelers praying before games led by Terry Bradshaw, I believe. When my son was in second grade, his teacher told me she prayed every day right before classes began. I told her if it kept her from beating the kids, that was fine with me. I remember the days when we all prayed every morning in school. We turned out to be decent people. Too many of us didn't pass it on and that's a shame. Tressell is a great man and will be long remembered at Ohio State.
