There was a Harvard study a while back that looked at the risk of DEATH against alcohol consumption. Answer: Two drinks per day minimized death as an outcome, and was better than being a tea-totaller. One or three drinks were better than none, but four or more were worse than none.
I think I'll go home and have a couple of glasses with dinner.

There was a Harvard study a while back that looked at the risk of DEATH against alcohol consumption. Not exactly wha I mean. I'm talking all benefits vs. all problems from consumption of alcohol. What would the risk of death be of all alcohol consumers vs. non conusmers (including things like auto accidents and getting drunk and assulitng a cop who shoots you). Add in all legal problems, broken families, the generational mental health effects of growing up in drunken homes, etc. My guess is that our society would be a lot better off without alcohol than with it.

Did that study distinguish between drivers and non-drivers? I suspect that, if you exclude drivers, the risk of death does not increase with three or four or five drinks a day. Michael Savage last night said the British Medical Association defines moderate drinking as up to five drinks a day.
