THIS RACISM HAS GOT TO STOP!!! I thought that once Lott quit, racism in this country would go away. But, here we are, racist politicians investigating black teachers JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK!
This is stereotyping at it's very racist worst. Every time a black finally gets control of an organization, the racist white media will blame any theft or corruprtion on the black.
Here, there might have been some incidental, unintentional, inadvertant, and minor miscounting of a few dollars but look at Enron, look at Lott's comments, look at Tyco! They are all much more important issues than hounding a few teachers of the highest integrity who were able to lead the teachers' union in Washington.
Two million? Certainly not. But, they were helping raise poor black kids out of the racist poverty of white society and were focusing on the keeds, not double entry accounting issues. The FBI should be looking after real criminals, real white criminals, and leaving the honest black union officers alone.

Good lord!
All that money that was supposed to go to the DNC was funneled off for high living?
That alone might have been the key to 2002 elections.

My favorite union dues theft was for a $15,000 TV (yes that is $15,000 for a plasma screen TV) for one of the crooked union heads.
Also money was illegally siphoned off to assure democrat party victories (is there anyother way these crooked lberal would win?).

" the serious felonies the committed include money laundering, embezzlement and tax evasion...$2M for personal use...expensive jewels, fine furs, designer clothing, and other high-priced goods and services...Moreover, the union employees aren't believed to be the only ones involved in the scheme. The affidavit names relatives and friends of Ms. Bullock and Mrs. Hemphill, and the tax preparer"For the children.

The legal papers said Bullock bought:
A $20,000 fur coat along with several other furs
More than $500,000 in custom-made clothing from a Baltimore fashion store
$9,000 worth of items at Bloomingdale's
$12,000 worth of items at Hecht's department store.
Another $17,000 worth of items at Millers Furs
More than $150,000 worth of items at Neiman Marcus
The agents raided a total of seven homes of various people allegedly involved. Among the items taken are a 288 piece set of Tiffany silver worth $57,000, two glass candlesticks worth $1,800, a $6,800 silver ice bucket, various fashion handbags worth from $690 to more than $2,000 dollars and even custom-made wigs worth $20,000.
