Something would be wrong if a jail was a happy place.

I'm sure jail is hard on a little man like him!

This may be his last Christmas, but his wife's last Christmas was two years ago.

The biggest blow to Blake is the worst thing that can happen to a Hollywood type. Being ignored.
I think he was hoping for an O.J. type thing where he could revive his career through all the publicity from the wall-to-wall coverage. Then Johnny Cochran gets him aquitted and he lives happily ever after.
But the publicity came and went like the flash of a camera strobe and without publicity, you don't get Cochran and you don't get fame.

"Dandridge said the only human contact Blake has is a once-a-week handshake from a priest who visits the actor in his jail cell."
From everything I've heard about this case; He's guilty.
However, bail (or even denying bail to a person before a trial) is done not to punish the not-yet-convicted suspect, but to assure their appearance before the court.
With that in mind, perhaps the pre-trial incarceration conditions are a little harsh. In Blakes case hes probably going to be convicted anyway. In many cases though, the defendant is not guilty and acquitted in the next phase.
This works out OK for the guilty, because the judge usually gives them credit for time served. For the innocent however, they get no credit for the time spent behind bars with their lives, jobs and families disrupted.
Seems like we could have a more equitable system.

"Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."
And that's the name of THAT tune.

I see. This is, perhaps, as opposed to "Actor Robert Blake Jubilant in Jail"?

Once again, I would like to state how i feel on the death penalty. If this isn't a clear example of how life in prison can be a fate worse than death, I'm not sure what is. Jail shouldn't be a nice place. natural conception until natural death all he way.
