The DC Chapter of Freerepublic.com has been around for more than 4 years. We have opposed leftists here at least 4 or 5 times before. We proudly had marines help us 29 Sept. 01 at the Navy Memorial.

I must second the notion of feeling proud, laughing and learning. As a Freeper for over a year now, the CANTEEN is a place for those of us to share experiences, advice, learn, and laugh. I have met some OUTSTANDING folks!!! Whether it be by land, sea, and or air, the Canteen gives us the PRIDE and support we need to defend our country. Many active, like myself "lurk" on a regular basis. Alot of vets, retiree's, reservists share their stories here. When time comes to be with those we have not seen in ages, the feeling of being on leave is tremendous. Let alone if from a small town, the remarks of "Thanks for wearing that uniform" just send chills up and down your spine. Take the time to visit the Canteen. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the heads-up, AP! I checked out the lefty link and it looks like the usual suspects, with the usual plans. Same time, same place at the Civic Center? Well I just wanted to thank the Freeper's that got in touch with my bro, Joel (Pointman Herc) Kernodle and gave us the heads up on the ins and outs of protesting in DC. It looks like we've hooked up with ya'll officially now for the January 18th gig. We are spending every free minute sending out emails to Marine Corps Forums, websites, organizations, all the Military Motorcycle clubs, Rolling Thunder, and many more. At this point I can't say if we can gather 100, 1000 or 10,000. All I know is that I'm ready and so is alot o other Combat Marine Vietnam Vets we know. Just hope they all show. We're pumped !! This sh!t might happen on our watch, but it ain't gonna happen without us being there to have our say !! Of course, we were saddened to hear "No Weapons" allowed....Ya'll want to take the fun out of this event !! OK OK...no weapons except our attitudes !! But if one o them scumbags lays a hand on my American Flag, then I'm gonna need "BAIL MONEY" !!!! SEMPER FIDELIS, DANE BROWN

Way cool. I discussed this w/ Kristinn at Moran's Saturday (abut 2 blocks from Ground Zero in NYC).

We are going to do a planning meeting 1/11 and we will assemble for the event in front of the Marine Barracks (So I have been told.). I will keep you spun up on developments.

Well D-Day in DC is in a couple o days !! Remember all Veterans, Marines, etc...be at the "Brothers of Nam" Statue at 0900 Saturday. Then head straight to "Constitution Gardens" which is a very short distance away over behind the "Wall" area.
