"He who meddles in a quarrel not his own, is like one who takes a passing dog by the ears."This would explain the entire LBJ-Beagle-Vietnam thing.

Domestics are really fun after you arrest the husband while the shrieking wife is standing behind you with her face all bloody demanding 'he' be arrested.
Then after you cuff him up and start heading out the door she jumps on your back and starts trying to scratch your eyes out.
Ain't love grand?

(Not to make light of a terrible event......Believe me)
But....
That's almost the same thing that I've heard my relatives say on some occasions....
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
To you and yours

God Bless

As an apartment manager, I learned a long time ago to stay out of domestic arguments and let the police handle it.

Hell, as semi-sane human being I learned a long time ago to stay out of domestic arguments and let the police handle it. |

I'm sure there are many that would debate whether I'm really sane.
Also, I must have lived a very sheltered life. I never heard of domestic abuse until I moved into an apartment. I never even heard my parents raise their voices to each other but they both knew how to yell at my sister and me.

Same here. Only my sister and I never thought of it as "domestic abuse." |
Probably because we were too busy beating feet...

A man trying to settle a dispute was shot to death at a Far North Dallas apartment complex Wednesday night.
No good deed goes unpunished.
But seriously...anyone who has watched the crap policepersons have to put
up with in domestic violence cases should learn to stiffle rational moral impulses...
amd let rational survival impulses take over.
"He who runs away...

Then after you cuff him up and start heading out the door she jumps on your back and starts trying to scratch your eyes out. That's when daylight appears in her head and she realizes her 'provider' is going to jail.

Followed by the oft used line: "But I still love him."
