[history]
If a major war breaks out in Iraq, the first thing Rev. Stuart Fitch plans to do is pray, sending love to everyone from Saddam Hussein to President Bush. Then he'll call his congregation to church for a service.
And then, perhaps, the 78-year-old Episcopalian clergyman will get himself arrested.

But what do they expect? That we should wait for North Korea and Iraq to get accurate ICBMs and nukes? And Iraq or North Korea would attack a vastly superior nuclear power with WMD because...

(We could always give Klinton another go - there's several countries he hasn't committed treason for yet.) I saw an episode of "The View" where Dick Clark said he wished Bill Clinton could have served a third term.

". . . the peace movement has been using the buildup time to coordinate 'emergency response plans' to disrupt domestic military activity . . ." A very small minority within the peace movement who will be arrested for their actions...

the lives of america's sons and daughters at war takes precedence over your free speech,, i hope the MP's aim small ,, hit small,,, Do you oppose all anti-war demonstrations after we invade Iraq or just the more extreme elements within the peace movement?
To: American Preservative
The protestors need to be educated.
Too bad they were not in the twin towers as they fell.
Too bad they were not in the Murrah building in Oklahoma city as it was destroyed.
Too bad they were not on flight 800 as it was shot out from the sky.
If Bush wants to make a case for war...then he should.......
Tell the truth about the Clinton administration's coverup of OKC and flight 800.
Tell the people that Islam is a growing problem and must be dealt with. Stop calling it a religeon of peace.
And come out with the truth about 9/11/01.

And what does all of this have to do with Iraq?

The long buildup to the war "is doing wonders for organizing," according to Scott Lynch, a spokesman for Peace Action, the largest anti-war activism group in the United States, which claims 85,000 members in 100 chapters around the country. 85,000 out of 280 million people - .0303571% of the U.S. population. Big voice you've got there, Scotty. Beam me up!

Do you oppose all anti-war demonstrations after we invade Iraq or just the more extreme elements within the peace movement? Many from America have fought for and died for the right to free expression,, even if they did not agree with the protest,, HOWEVER,, disrupting the military apparatus, upon which the lives of our service folks depends, is well beyond aiding and abetting the enemy while at war,,

To: vinylsidingman
And I would oppose any protests that disrupted military operations. However, I do not consider those acts to be treasonous and I support other types of anti-war protests.
To: Navy Patriot
In this case you are correct, Vinyl. Tuck is trying to blur a free speech issue into a "right to commit treason by sabotage". these anti war folks can protest and dance in the streets til they all pass out as far as i care,, but disrupting "ANY" military operations while our courageous service people have their lives on the line is pure treason,,,

You know what Steve, these people DO have a right to protest and WE have a right to protest their protest. This time I have a couple dozen rotten eggs and me and my friends, oh maybe a couple thousand of us are going to be waiting for these creeps. Surely you don't think WE don't have a right to protest their protest do you?
To: mhking
Agree. Great Roadkill!!!!! F*** the commie bastards!!!

To: American Preservative
Rally meeting places are posted, march routes set, protest signs painted, acts of nonviolent civil disobedience choreographed. The last word says it all. There is nothing spontaneous about this. The America haters are out to get arrested. Not a bad plan.

Can you say freedom of speech? From the article: ...the peace movement has been using the buildup time to coordinate "emergency response plans" to disrupt domestic military activity, tie up commerce...
Can you say treason? I knew you could.
Oh, and welcome to FR.

I doubt you really want to have this brought to your attention.... since you probably already know it, but here goes.
Geopolitical boundaries are almost meaningless in the Middle East Islamic countries. In vast trackless deserts there are no yellow painted lines with billboards welcoming you to East Overshoe County, the Smallmouth Bass Capitol of Iowa. The concept of country was imposed on the ME by the Brits; Balfour and that crowd.
To the nomadic-heritage people of the ME, tribal loyalty and loyalty to their faith and its sub-sets is all-important.
Saddam cares not for international borders, nor does he want conventional confrontation with the West. As long as he continues to thumb his nose at the West, and channel $ to known terrorists, he is a threat to us.
It is not 2002. It is 1938 all over again. Saddam's activities in attacking neighbors, gassing a religious minority and developing enhanced weapons are all too familiar to those who watched the other West appease Hitler at every turn.
It's simple. Kill him now. Or hope we can kill him later.... as he is killing us.
It's not nice.... but it is reality.
