Activists Planning Mass Civil Disobedience If U.S. Attacks Iraq

If a major war breaks out in Iraq, the first thing Rev. Stuart Fitch plans to do is pray, sending love to everyone from Saddam Hussein to President Bush. Then he'll call his congregation to church for a service.

And then, perhaps, the 78-year-old Episcopalian clergyman will get himself arrested.

Amazing how these threads bring out the skinwasters, isn't it?

The folks at DU must be so terrified about the U.S. acting in its own defense that they take time out from their mutual love-in to come over here.

Articles like this one show not only how stuck in the past most Leftists are, but how they view themselves. They really believe that people care what they do, and are on their side!

Hilarious.

I'm keeping an eye on this one...what's it now, 3 "kills" for this thread? Only two more and the mod becomes an "ACE".

Well, let's put it this way. Both sites have floaters who post on each.

Some floaters choose to post only on subjects where they might find agreement. For instance on a Clinton is God or Clinton is Dog thread you won't find anyone outside of the DU or FR domain. But gun control, abortion, etc. the hot spots where both sides have internal disagreements, you will find more posters that may or may not really be for the site. After awhile you can spot who is who.

Some floaters have been known to take an absolute extreme position (left or right) in order to bait others into looking more extreme than they really are.

I posted at DU for awhile (banned for calling a european socialist "anti-american"). Basically arguing with hard core socialists and standing with the few brave DUer's who are for the 2nd amendment and fight the gun grabbers constantly. There are a few reasonable people there but not many.

I'm with you, I just hope I can control myself if educational-disrupting protesters appear on the campus of my community college. They've done some handbilling on the bulletin boards, and as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone's right to get an education, I'm perfectly inclined to ignore them, except for an occasional shout of "Traitor!"

We've got some politically active types that wish it was 1972 instead of 2002, at least how they imagine '72 was (they seem to have forgotten that McGovern was sent packing rather decisively). I hope that another group gets active, we had some Vietnamese-American students protesting the display of the Communist flag of Vietnam in the flag pavillion of the student center. To them, it was the sign of an illegally established government that killed and tortured their ancestors. Hopefully, I can rally a few of them to pro-US protests, if necessary!

From the article:

"A spokesman at Vandenberg said security officers are aware of the plans and are prepared. "Without going into specifics, base security measures are tailored to the current threat," said Master Sgt. Lloyd Conley. "

As someone whose life depends quite frequently on the works of this base, I TRULY hope those measures include rifle butts and nightsticks, preferably wielded by someone whose wife just left him.

I posted to a thread over there regarding the "AK-74" rifle used by the DC killers. I threw out some bait (Misinformation) and was actually called a "Gungrabber." Damn near fell outta my chair after that.

You should have seen the recent shoot-em-up of German disruptors. Blood everywhere: THAT was something.

A very merry Christmas to you and yours.

Merry Christmas to you, too.

Reading this thread gave me chills. I can understand peacable demonstrations, I guess, even if they're just suckers without any clues, but for the disruptors to suggest thet sabotage=free speech is scary. It shows exactly what they are.

And if you guys are still lurking, figure it out. Those promising and planning such action are NOT "protesting"...they are attempting to kill American military personnel! That you would even be on the same side as they, let alone defend them on "free speech" grounds, is disgusting.

Treason exists. It is NOT contradicted by the First Ammendment, and saboteurs are NOT "protestors".

I already have to see countless stories lauding you wastes of skin on the TV while IGNORING true American heroes. I have to live with the knowledge that it is my job to protect YOU, too, along with useful citizens. But for you to add injury to insult, and try to injure or kill myself and my brothers, all so you can relive the '60s, is too damn much.

I'd have NO PROBLEM with any "protestors" found within the confines of a base being summarily shot. It would send a LOUD AND CLEAR message that American military lives were valuable enough to protect, and that such stinking behavior would NOT be tolerated.

My President clearly set the rules for this war. You are with us or against us. Saddam made his choice.

Secondly, he is clearly making weapons of mass destruction. Do you wish to find them before or after there is s smoldering crater where your city used to stand?

These same people would have stood up for Hitler had they been around in WWII.

That is possible, but more likely they are the ones who DID stand up for Joe Stalin. They really do want to see our enemies win.

You should have seen the recent shoot-em-up of German disruptors. Blood everywhere: THAT was something.

It was a massacre. Lasted from Saturday morning until tonight, when we finally marched the last one over to the the wall and offered it a cigarette and a blindfold.

Maybe it's the language difference, but those German Greenies sounded flat-out demented.

You said ...."And what does all of this have to do with Iraq?

I say......Iraq was involved in all of those attacks.

Because Sadam was pulverized in Desert Storm, He supported and financed the 800 shootdown, OKC bombing, and all the other attacks I mentioned.

Because the Clinton Government lied to US, the government could not come out and say that these were Iraqi backed attacks. To this day, the government will not admit that these were terrorist attacks.

The Clinton government did not want to do anything about terrorism because this would have shown he did not know what to do about it.

Actually, today, the mod placed himself in pretty august company...

"Duke" Cunningham got three kills on a single day on May 10, 1972. Combined with two previous kills, it cemented his status as the Navy's first ace of the Vietnam War.

Can you say freedom of speech?

Freedom of speech is not an absolute freedom.
