**If you listen to the father in the film "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," he would give you reasons for believing that Columbus was Greek. **
Then he'd spray you with Windex. :o)

HAHAHAHA! My vote for favorite movie of 2002!!!

Oh, come on. Greeks are some of the the most egotistical and xenophobic people in Europe (I lived there for over a year). If Colombus was a Greek, then he and his family were in Greece as occupiers and enlighteners, since Greece had long since sunk into decline. Most modern Greek culture comes from the Turks. I've got my flame suit on, so you Greek-Americans can fire away.

I laughed so hard during the movie I needed my inhaler! :o) When this movie comes out on video, I'M BUYING IT!!!
My parents are from Chios, and I have heard the stories of Colombus being Chian while growing up. It's an interesting theory, and I think that it is a historical fact that some of the sailors on his first voyage were recruited from Chios.
Of course Chios also makes claims that Homer was a native of the Island, and I have visited the Daskalopetra (Teaching Rock) where Homer taught his poems to his students.

Say, that's not a bad idea, Tony. The Turks blew up the Parthenon once. Maybe we should bring it over here for safe keeping. (With a little ingenuity, we could swap it for the one in Nashville without the Greeks' realizing it.)

Nice use of Greek words in a sentence. Your not worth any flame.

Do you suppose Columbus had any Egyptian blood? Try the book Black Spark, White Fire
by Richard Poe for possible evidence that Egyptians were heavily infulential in early Greece.

I knew it. It's just a matter of time before the Sphinx comes to the Arizona desert and we set up the real pyramid in Memphis (I mean Memphis, Tennessee).
