Pro:
Rep. George Nethercutt (R-WA) was disgusted by Murray's words. "It borders on negligence. It borders on misinformation. It borders on a lack of sensitivity of the state of the world that surprises me of a United States senator," he told the Seattle Times.
Con:
Murray explained her comments: "While we continue to search every corner of the globe to destroy Osama bin Laden... should we also consider the longer-term issue of what else can be done to improve relations with all nations including the Arab world?"

I highly recommend this voting site, folks. I've posted there for a long time now, and they're very good. The discussion area is still down for maintenance, unfortunately, but this is at least one way of getting your point across on this issue.
Many thanks.

AFutureGovernor,
No, I'm actually from America. I just work in Qatar. Been here about 6 months now. Before that, I worked in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for 4.5 years, and about 7 years in the UK. Thanks for asking.

I believe the best solution for her is to apologize and resign her senate seat.
To: hoot2
ok, but who's gonna explain it to her?Heheh.

Hey, how do you pronounce Qatar? I've always thought it was "K-Tar" but recently have heard newspeople call it "Gutter."
Which is correct?

BTW, could Nethercutt's quotes be any wimpier?
"It borders on insensitivity..."
Pathetic. If you don't have anything vicious to say, don't say anything at all.

It depends on the person, I guess, but here the major pronunciations float between "CAUGHT-her" and "GOT-her". The western pronunciation of "kwa-TAR" isn't really accurate. Hope that was helpful. Many thanks.

ThatDewd,
The job market ain't all that bad, but there are some restrictions in employing foreign workers here. I'd suggest you check with a good international headhunter. Oh, and here's a bonus - it's tax free here!
To: DocFarmer
Thank you for the clarification. Stay safe over there.
