By Joseph Farah - the guy who voted for Jimmy carted over Reagan. He really is a good judge for all us to listen to?

I'm not sure what Farah's beef is. He seems to be arguing that it is inevitable that right-wing wacko Conservatives (such as myself) are going to call for Frist's head on a silver platter before we even give him a chance to get his feet wet.

Indeed, it seems Farah is calling for the heads of right-wing wacko Conservatives on a silver platter before we are given the chance to give Frist a chance.

This is politics. Politics is a brutal and sometimes thankless business. Frist knows it, Farah knows it, and we right-wing wacko Conservatives know it.

I know not how other Conservatives will treat Frist but, as for me, I will hold Frist's feet to the fire and criticize him when I think the situation calls for it and, conversely, I will heap praises on him when I think he has earned it. I expect he will get a little (or a lot) of both from me. If that bothers Farah, Frist and certain FReepers, so be it.

Let the games begin.

Frist once told National Public Radio that there are no absolute right, absolute wrong answers in medicine.

---------------------------

When I first saw Frist's background and qualifications, I was awed. I was hoping he would be a Gene Hersholt or Marcus Welby type with depth. Now I am coming to realize I am looking at another Bill Clinton successfuly scrambling to accumulate prizes without seriously thinking. I guess I know why he left medicine for politics. Like many in his generation he is a well-trained technician without depth of consideration. We're in trouble here.

Bill Clinton would've put SOMEONE up for Surgeon General who WOULD HAVE been pro-abortion NO MATTER WHAT. I think it very wise that Frist championed a Tenneseean. We have no idea what kind of access that gave Frist....especially since Frist's voice in Tennessee's Columbia/HCA is such a loud voice. Satcher would have known that after Clinton's years in office were over, he would still have Bill Frist around to deal with.

Frist's positions and votes are public. He is pro-life with exceptions for rape, incest, and life of the mother. That is the same position as was held by Ronald Reagan.

Any honest conservative will demonize Reagan on this if he ventures into demonizing Frist.

Also, does everyone know that at the latter part of his surgical career before politics that Frist was the one who delved into the difficult surgical field of the hearts of tiny babies....so that these little ones would stay alive.

I'm disgusted with some of the hit pieces that have been written on Frist by our own people...by conservatives. Why not just hand the agenda to the democrats? Give the guy a chance to get on board!
