Text of President Bush's Kwanzaa message:

I send greetings to those celebrating Kwanzaa.

Kwanzaa celebrates the traditional African values of unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. From December 26th to January 1st, people of African descent gather to renew their commitment to these seven principles, known as Nguzo Saba, and give thanks for the blessings of family, community, and culture. Kwanzaa is also a time for Africans and African-Americans to honor their common heritage by participating in events based on early harvest gatherings called matunda ya kwanza, or first fruits.

As individuals and families join together during Kwanzaa, their joy enriches communities in the United States and across the globe. By uniting people of diverse backgrounds and beliefs, this holiday promotes mutual understanding and respect. These universal principles inspire us as we work together for a future of freedom, hope, and opportunity for all.

Laura joins me in sending our best wishes for a memorable Kwanzaa, and for peace, happiness, and success in the coming year.

Out of one side of his mouth Dubya condemns a person who praised a 100-year-old white segregationist and he says that segregation was evil. Out of the other side he celebrates Kwanzaa - a black nationalist holiday invented by a black segregationist to promote his particular brand of marxist black segregationism.

Bush is a PC hypocrite - pure and simple. I condemned Clinton when he was the first president to recognize the racist observance - I condemn Bush even more because he's supposed to know better.

When I was in college at the State University of New York college at New Paltz, back in the late '80s, the administration had stuff for Christmas, Hanukah, and Kwanzaa.

There was quite a bit of objection to Kwanzaa from African American Christians.

No, not really. Regardless of what anyone thinks of it, Cinco de Mayo is an actual holiday with genuine historical significance. Kwanzaa by contrast was made up out of thin air by a radical afro-marxist separatist with connections to left wing torture cults.

The "celebrate" aspect has to do with the link between being a "separate" group that deserves, in fact demands, coddling, special standards for behavior and accomplishment, and forgiveness for any and all shortcomings, depravity, and degeneracy.
