Explain please. I fail to see your point. I am sure that before her conversion she broke the first five, number seven, number ten and possibly number nine. So how is she “off the hook”?
Here the Judaic Ten Commandments are in case your church lists them differently.
1.) I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

9.) Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Sorry - I misspoke. I should have said "Guess people are off the hook for the first 5 Commandments as long as they observe the last five".
So how is she “off the hook”?
In my opinion, not having the inclination to at least make a phone call to Mom and inquire about her welfare in months qualifies as something other than "honoring" her.
