I don't remember it being that detailed in the book, but I might be wrong. I just think that sometimes love scenes in certain movies through the movies totally out of wack. They ruin the pace. In a movie like TTT a love scene would detract, rather then add, to the film.

The story is very detailed in the appendices. The problem is that the exposition make the romance clear in the book, but not in a visual scene. The problem with non-visual exposition is that it is very hard to translate to film.

I didn't find it that way at all. Most of the movie was SO intense and fast-moving that I found it to be refreshing....a chance to relax a little before jumping back into the action. Not only that, but I thought it very efficiently resolved the conflicts generated by the love between Arwen and Aragorn.
