Clinton putting his worthless 2 cents in will guarantee that the GOP will unify behind Lott and Lott will stay as ML. Daschle has got to be cursing Clinton under his breath about now.

Not necessarily. I don't imagine the Dem. leadership is anxious to get rid of Lott as ML. In my opinion,he has helped the Dems. out quite a bit. They might not get things their way so easily with the person who succeeds him!

I heard on the news the other day that Lott had 'threatened' to resign the Senate if he couldn't stay as ML. That was apparently a LIE! It was the MS Gov. Ronnie Musgrove who suggested that Trent wouldn't want to stay, and was salivating at the prospect of appointing a Dem. in his place. Of course the news idiots reported it that Trent had said it. Typical.
