By the days end, at least 10 Senate Republicans contacted by CBS News have endorsed Lott's leadership, a small boost for the embattled Senator, but far short of the 26 he will need from the Senate GOP Caucus to keep his job reports CBS News Washington Correspondant Bob Fuss.
Those standing with Lott include:
Mike Dewine-Ohio
Orrin Hatch-Utah
Arlen Specter-Pennslyvania
Lott still believes a majority of the 51 Senate Republicans support him.
'I'm telling you this morning, I am hanging in there,' he told the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday.

Since when did Senate leadership become a popularity contest?
To: Fred Mertz
I suspect that there are some freepers who feel the same as you do.

Arlen Specter-Pennslyvania After how Lott stood by Clinton during impeachment, Specter figures he owes Lott big time.
Besides, Lott is reported to also be a big fan of Scottish law.

And the rumour is that Lott is taking names this time see who supports him now for possible retribution later if he squeaks out a win.

at least 10 Senate Republicans contacted by CBS News have endorsed Lott's leadership,"At least" is not quite "only."
Your headline is misleading. No surprise there, though.

Reminds me of Robert Irsay standing outside the stadium telling the camera he had absolutely no intention of moving the Baltimore Colts to Indianapolis when a moving van went behind him ON CAMERA and they started loading his office onto it.

Cool! More beer for us! LOL!
To: Fred Mertz
If Lott goes, so do I.Where y'all going?
Where ever it is, I bet it's a place where everybody wears those little beanies with the propellers on top.
To: Fred Mertz
If Lott goes, so do I.He isn't leaving the republican party, if that is what you mean.
There IS only one leader of the party in the senate--since Lott is the current holder of that title, what exactly would you be leaving?
To: sinkspur
That is all that will go on the record, and is consistent with Russerts reporting on NBC that Lott is 'far short' of the number needed.
Chester is toast.
