And he was smiling, like Rush said Jesse Jackson was when he made similar comments faking outrage.

Clinton supported the racist Senator Fulbright.

Using that same logic, then Strom Thurmond is a racist and one that held powerful posts among his fellow REPUBLICANS.

Clinton wants nothing more than a race war in America and he sees that big dream of his slipping away. Why do you think his office is where it is?

I wish Lott would just f****** go away, he has done more damage and will not surface as trusted by anyone. The pompous ass said what he meant and meant what he said he is up to his eyeballs in s*** and now must get on his knees. I can't believe the the frigging mess he has caused.

If Chester would apologize for the Impeachment trial and supporting Affirmative Action that would go a long way toward not calling him a real conservatve (although that isn't my only complaint)

The liberals got 5 apologies, now I want one!

I was saying that if Clinton made statements praising Fulbright on segregation than he is not a racist as well? (if we are following this PC garbage to its logical conclusion)

If he truly "said what he meant and meant what he said," then Clinton is correct in calling the GOP hypocritical because the GOP elected and embraced Lott as their leader.

When in the past two weeks have the Conservatives here 'embraced' Chester as our leader?

What does Jim Robinson have to do with your wacky liberal views? MurryMom and Tuco-bad are in agreement with Bill Clinton, and he let's them stay.

You and the Toon are in agreement, we shouldn't be bashing Chester!

Of course Clinton is going to stick up for Lott. Lott stuck up for Kelly Flinn who was being court martialed about lying about an adulterous affair in 97.

But Flinn acquired a powerful ally Tuesday. Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Mississippi, could make life uncomfortable for top Pentagon officials who depend on Congress for military spending.

Lott said the Air Force has "badly abused" Flinn. "At minimum, she ought to get an honorable discharge." Lott planned to discuss the issue with Defense Secretary William Cohen.

A better question would be to Bush as to whether he supported the impeachment of Clinton. By his words and actions since taking office, I would say that Bush was opposed to it, a stand that numerous Republicans have taken. You're allowing your hatred for Clinton (understandable) to cloud your judgment in the case regarding Lott.

The liberals got 5 apologies, now I want one!

And you wishing to be like the liberals is what is plaguing the GOP today. The GOP, in calling for Lott's head, is playing the "victim card" just as heavily as the blacks.

Why doesn't Clinton make himself useful in this time of trouble? He could do something - offer constructive criticism, not just Republican-bashing. If he wants a legacy, let it be some inspired non-partisan thing. But I guess that won't happen.
