Good ole MSNBC had a poll this morning asking if viewers thought Trent Lott is a racist. Personally, I do not think he is. He is a stupid man, and insensitive, and miscalculated the response to his first apology. He is a Republican, and as such, gets held to a higher standard.

If you haven't seen it yet, don't worry you'll get a chance. Trent is standing off to the side as Thurmond signs a document.
He is heard off camera to say (again I'm paraphrasing) "He should've been President in '47.
Also, I see now they're after Ashcroft again.

Not onlly does the media want Lott's head, but a lot of conservatives do too: George Will, Charles Krauthammer, Andrew Sullivan, John Fund, the folks at National Review Online, the editors of the Wall Street Journal, to mention a few.

He's entitled to his opinion. People need to quit drawing their own conclusions based on a sentence.

Well msnbc should get their licks in now. We might all get a post christmas present of the dissolution of the channel and firing of the dopes that ran it directly into the ground. Hopefully they saved well. Good riddance

1947? Trent has as much snap as a wet box of cornflakes.
To: KQQL
With his groveling, Lott has replaced Lewinsky as DC's "kneepad queen".

If you want to stretch it........
If Strom had been elected president in 1948 the Korean War might have gone nuclear and China might be a democratic ally now and no Vietnam War, etc.
Yes, we might not have had all these troubles all these years.
Integration might have been delayed a few years, but things might have been much better today!!

For complete, context, I believe Thurmond was signing some type of defense appropriations bill.
MSNBC twisting, distorting and manipulating the simplest of words into some horrific deed.
They bite.

Yep...
Before this happened we all knew Lott was nothing more than a deal maker that would probably sell his mother down the river if it were politically expedient.
Now he goes on BET last night and says he supports Affirmative/Negative Action/Robbery.
He has to go.

He's entitled to his opinion. I hold several opinions that I have the good sense not to advertise on camera. Moreover, what would be inadvisable for me to voice would be very stupid for a politician. I'm entitled to hold them, of course.

MSNBC, huh? And...of course their point is? If you're a racist in 2002...you must have been one in 2000? Maybe he was even a racist in 1948 like Maxine Waters suggested. Just maybe Trent Lott spat in the food of black people as the Reverend Jackson claims to have done. Perhaps there are film clips of everyone in Washington saying "something." I think I'd pay for a video now of "Our Lawmakers Most Racist Remarks."

I hold several opinions that I have the good sense not to advertise on camera. Moreover, what would be inadvisable for me to voice would be very stupid for a politician. I'm entitled to hold them, of course. Ditto. Every scrawny, pimply-faced teen is entitled to think of the mother of a varsity linebacker, "Your mom's a 'MILF.'" But when he gets his faced bashed in for saying it out loud, he's got no one to blame but himself.

MEDIA WANTS LOTT"S HEAD.....He shouldn't have begun hacksawing his own neck.
