Catholic Church Must Lose the Psychobabble
LA Times ^ | December 17, 2002 | George Weigel

By George Weigel,

VATICAN CITY -- Let the healing begin.

This seems to be the consensus Catholic response, ranging from victims groups to the church hierarchy to the Catholic press. It is an entirely appropriate sentiment if the question is reconciling the victims of clergy sexual abuse to the church.

But it is a hopelessly inadequate reaction if the question is fixing what is broken in the structures of Catholic belief and practice in the United States.

The jargon of the therapeutic culture in which "fixated ephebophilia" masks the reality of homosexual molestation and "observe the boundaries" replaces "don't commit grave sin" is part of the problem, not part of the solution, to a crisis caused by priests who broke their vows and bishops who failed to lead.

He hits the proverbial nail on the head here. With the proper diagnosis one might be able to fix or cure a problem. Something I wish liberals would learn. Which is namely, their solutions don't work because they've incorrectly characterized or diagnosed the problem or invented it.

What the Roman Catholic church might consider doing is turning to Christ and away from homosexuality and idolatry.

You might consider facts instead of conjecture but doing so would mean you couldn't go through life using your ignorance crutch.

It's a shame one has to register to go the LA Times site.

I won't do it, since the LA Times sued Free Republic.

I'm sure it was a great article.

Jesus said:

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the sliver that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, 'Let me pull out the sliver out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?'
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the sliver out of thy brother's eye.

If you own a Bible and would like to see this for yourself, ye hypocrite, read Matthew chapter seven. The ignorance is not in those who study the Word of God, it is in those who choose to obey doctrine instead of Scripture, those who worship idols instead of the Lord Jesus only and those, like yourself that defend an idolatrous Bible Truth denying cult.

The Lord tells us very clearly in John chapter three that any who are not Born Again will never ever see the kingdom of God, and since there is no purgatory, those who reject Christ and follow the teachings of man have destined themselves to an eternity in the lake of fire.

Your salvation is your responsibility, not mine, not anyones but yours, you choose, Christ or satan, for as the Lord has said;
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

You choose, Christ or RC Doctrine, for they are not one and the same.
