Pro-abortion Kean named instead

WASHINGTON, December 16, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Henry Kissinger withdrew as head of the commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks this weekend after it became clear that his multimillion-dollar consulting business, Kissinger Associates, includes Middle Eastern clients who might have come under commission scrutiny. According to a Dec. 17 Newsmax story "critics said Kissinger was stepping aside because he was not prepared to make public the list of his lucrative contracts, including many with foreign governments and other overseas entities".


There has been widespread criticism of the President's choice of Kissinger from both Republicans and Democrats because of the elite former secretary of state's past involvement in questionable and secretive international enterprises. Cynicism has been expressed that, with his extensive history of international manipulations, Kissinger is especially unlikely to provide honest public enlightenment on 9/11.


Bush's choice of Kissinger has also caused concern among long-time pro-life leaders because of his Nixon-era role in developing secret U.S. foreign policy population control measures through his creation of the policy memorandum NSSM 200. The 1970s secret document appears to have had a huge influence on American government foreign policy for years, helping population control to become a major industry for international advocates of abortion, contraception and sterilization.


The White House quickly named former New Jersey governor Tom Kean to replace Kissinger as head of the joint House-Senate inquiry, which has only 18 months to report. Kean is seen as a so-called "moderate" Republican with a strong ethical image, but, it was Kean [along with pro-abort "Catholic" Tom Ridge, now Homeland Security leader] who led the far from moderate attempt to strip the pro-life plank from the 1996 Republican party platform.

I was glad to see that criminal Kissinger gone. And I am vehemently anti abortion. However, with that said, what the freak does ones position on abortion have to do with heading a commission on 911???

It was Kean who led the far from moderate attempt to strip the pro-life plank from the 1996 Republican party platform.

He should be persona non grata in this "pro-life evangelical Christian Republican" President's eyes.

Why isn't he?

By the way, Tom Ridge joined Kean in calling for the removal of the pro-life plank from the 1996 Republican party platform.

I guarantee you the Republican party will strip the pro-life plank from the Republican party platform by 2008.

Yep, "Dude," and in this America the Democrats have an iron fisted rule and litmus test regarding abortion. If you ain't on board with the Dems on pro-abortion, you don't even get to fight over the table scraps, no matter how close or far the appointment is from the subject of abortion.

The GOP has no such loyalty to its Party Platform, which is "unequivocally" pro-life. Since when do we abandon all principles just to make an appointment, any appointment? Why the hell do we need a man, who thinks a plank against cold blooded murder of the innocents should be removed from the GOP platform, in any position whatsoever in the Administration of a so-called "Pro-life evangelical Christian GOP" president's administration?

So much for GOP "principles."

The GOP will cast off the pro-life plank soon.

Does anybody give a damn?

Bush is not stupid, by any stretch.

He knows that Keane and Ridge were instrumental in trying to strip the pro-life language from the party documents.

What I see here is an attempt by Bush to throw the pro-abort Pubbies a bone on what he thought would be a non-controversial appointment, one that many Republicans would see as unrelated to abortion.

What we see here is an inconsistent ethic of care for innocent human life, born and unborn, by the President.

To put in place an infamous pro-abort to head a commission investigating a murderous attack on innocents in New York, metro D.C. and PA is unnecessarily divisive. Are there not any number of tacitly pro-life people out there who could do the job without this unnecessary controversy?

There's no where to go. We either keep the GOP pro-life, or there will be no political voice for the pro-life position in the USA. There will be no where to go.

And the perfect way to tell the GOP that "Frankly, we don't really give a damn about the pro-life Party Plank" is to 1)maintain silence on these repeated appointments of radically pro-abort sleazeballs by this administration, chanting "What does it have to do with abortion?" and 2)continue to mock those who refuse to do # 1)
