CARDINAL LAW’S RESIGNATION [Rabid Bigots Falsely Accuse Pope]
CatholicLeague ^ | 12-13-2002 | Bill Donohue

Posted on 12/15/2002 8:34:40 PM PST by Notwithstanding

Their so-called smoking gun theory boils down to this: the pope in 1999 recommended that a defrocked priest ought not return to the area where he committed his offenses. They take this eminently sensible advice and use it as a hammer to bludgeon the pope. Just so everyone understands what’s going on here, what the pope did was to say that a former priest—someone who had been returned to the status of a layman—ought to start a new life in a new location. Isn’t this what parole boards recommend to released inmates—that they not return to the neighborhood that nurtured their maladies? Shame on Massachusetts Attorney General Thomas Reilly and others for disseminating this mindless charge.

You won't mind if we call you an anti-Catholic bigot, now will you? Or feel that by exercising our right of free speech against your imagined self-esteem that we are somehow denying your right of free speech?

Of course, as to all things Catholic, it is still none of your business unless you have converted lately.

I gather that you must have evidence that our 82-year-old pope is a "boy-toy"? Or is it that you just can't help yourself? He joined Reagan in bringing down the Iron Curtain using his status in Poland to provide the critical wedge of the Solidarity rising. What have you accomplished for Western Civilization lately?

You prosecute them, convict them, jail them, etc. We RCs will take care of the religious side of things on our own, thank you very much!

Dear BlackElk,

"Anyone else out there want to be a fool under the leadership of Jesus Christ? Contact the Knights of Columbus."

Too late.

Whatever churches those may be, they got the Bible from us before they lopped off the books that were inconvenient to the deform.

Your second paragraph is beneath contempt. Like I posted previously, I presume you are proud to be a bigot and an ignorant bigot at that, but I repeat myself.

My goodness, did we disagree with thy Teaching Authority? It is a good thing that you can endure such attacks because unless you change your insolent tune there will certainly more of them.

I don't want to see any more harm come to the Church, but this this is bad news indeed

Tomorrow in Boston, the lawyers start feeding on the carcass of Bernard Law. It is going to get worse. - Tom

I've heard public media reports that Algore won the 2000 election. I have heard media reports about a lot of things. Often, I take into consideration the source of such reports and discount accordingly. To do so is not to jump into da Nile.

Well, it certainly is true that if there were fewer lavender queens in our clergy there would be fewer of our clergy hitting on little boys or prepubescent boys or teenaged boys or "adult" "men" for that matter. As they say, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

You had better have a better source than "media reports" for your claims if you want to be taken seriously. The pervert-loving and justice obstructing AmChurch liberal bishops will be punishing the pervs now, won't they! I don't ship them anywhere personally, but if you would like to join in, Law can do life in the general population at Walpole which is the most and therefore the least that we ought to do with him.

First of all, because we know our priests, we have a good idea of who's what. The Vatican inquired as to Shanley BEFORE Law became archbishop of Boston. Cardinal Madeiros died and diocesan officials stonewalled. The secular courts just released Shanley on bond. If ever there were a risk of a releasee absconding, Shanley is the one, but he also headed straight (he should pardon the expression) for Provincetown (Tally Ho!) upon release. He is also a substantial risk of suicide. Wait and see! After all no rules apply to Father NAMBLA.

I'm going with the obvious probability that you are not in the Church and I do not recall anyone who is in the Church recruiting your impudent opinion. I have always found Notwithstanding to be quite responsible and far more charitable toward folks like you than I am.

Be sure to continue making a fool of yourself in public, criticizing what you cannot understand. As an American, you make the remarkably fashionable and unwarranted assumption that your beliefs or opinions are relevant just because they are yours. You are certainly as entitled to state them as we are to use common sense and ignore them.

Golleee, he can too read! He just does not understand the distinction between the sins of fallen men and the Truth of Roman Catholicism. Jealous, he lashes out in regular anger at a Church that is not his own but is Jesus Christ's.

Take a closer look. I spoke to quickly by conceding your ability to read. St. Malachi's last two predictions are that JP II, Labor Solis, will be directly succeeded by Gloria Olivae and that a future successor of Gloria Olivae will be Peter the Omega whom he describes as a servant of the Antichrist but here is an ellipsis and Peter the Omega is not necessarily the direct successor of Gloria Olivae.

Further, the significance of the names is often not apparent until after the pope's death. John Paul I was De Mediatate Lunae (of the half moon). It had been widely speculated that the name signified some breakthrough with the Islamic people. It turned out to be more indicative of his very short reign.

I had not heard that Gloria Olivae was predicted as aa denier of Christ. I don't think you have heard that authoritatively from St. Malachi or otherwise.

As to political correctness, we are neither Episcopalian, nor Presbyterian USA nor Methodist. Talk to them.

Yes, that will be great fun. The deeper the justified humiliation of AmChurch liberals who have covered these horrors, the less likely the repetition. Do you think we want to protect Law's reputation? Catholics who are Catholics, within the bouds of fact and justice, long for the complete blood purge of the AmChurch liberal jerks who have caused not only these scandals but many other wounds to the Church. Whatever you may think you CANNOT be as angry as we are.

Let the games proceed and thumbs down on each one proven guilty of lavender perversions or covering the same. The truth is STILL the Truth and always will be. We survived Judas and Diocletian and Luther and Henry Eighth and Lizzie I and we will survive these guys.

That is really a strange last sentence. Is that your solution to the problem? I thought that WAS the problem.

Have you ever heard of the Cluniac Reform? I think you can find it in the Britannica.

325 priests or 325 incidents since Mr. Shanley is responsible for 100+ as is Mr. Geoghan? What is your source?

I'm sorry, I can't quote my source, just don't recal, but the point was not that there were 325 occurances, but that there were complaints against 325 priests over the years. Your right, if it were occurances, we could wrap this thing up with just a few priests and we know that is not the case.

Smoking: You erroneously note that "Please! My posts here were not about the Church! They were about "Notwithstanding's" moronic rantings. Peace?"

In post #14 you refer to the pope as a corrupt man.

Thank you for exposing yourself both a slanderer and a liar.

I am keeping lists. We need to know who the anti-Catholic bigots are here at FR so that they can be exposed as such whenever they show up on a thread to mock the Church (these types LOVE to trash without thinking a lick about what they are actually writing or the "sources" for their attacks).

Having worked for an utterly orthodox Catholic organization on a project aimed at shutting NAMBLA down, I can only laugh my ass off at your insane comments about NAMBLA.
