I thought Leslie Stahl did a poor job. She never really explored the reasons why Gore decided not to run. Gore offered some stuff about members of his party being worn out from his 2000 run, but she never probed or explored it.
This was an historic moment: the end of Al Gore's political career, and Stahl blew it. It ended with a whimper about his beard, and then it was over. Disappointing.

I'll say. The interview was over before it began. I'm glad I taped it.

A Dim, thrown anything but a softball? Unthinkable.
Notice that Dims are hardly ever interrupted by the hosts.

This was an historic moment: the end of Al Gore's political career Dont bet on it. Gore will be back in '08. Nixon did it, so I bet Bore Gore thinks he can too.

Don't count Gore out. This may be simple calculation-- he sees Bush as unbeatable in 2004 and wants one of his potential 2008 opponents to take the dive.
