Smokers need not apply...
News from the GulagsThe Eyes of Texas Are Upon You
In the Oct. 28, 1995, San Antonio Express an article entitled "Prison Smoking Ban Ignites Busy Tobacco Black Market" by an anonymous AP reporter explained the various ways in which tobacco was smuggled into Texas prisons. He forgot to mention that the ban has created a flourishing tobacco trade for guards. That ain't all they're trading.

Since when are sex and drugs in jail news ???

Woder why a Dallas paper runs this story after totally ignoring the Dallas Drywall Cartel. Looks like a ggod portion of the drugs sold in Texas comes out of evidence storage.

Sheriff's Department investigate allegations of sexual activity between guards and female inmates at the jail. That is a felony in Texas -- for the guards. Some of these guys may be staying in the same workplace, but going off the payroll : )
God knows we need prison guards, but I always remember the words of G. Gordon Liddy, who says that prison guards are folks who spend 1/2 of their waking hours behind bars voluntarily.

The idea of warehousing millons of criminals is wrong. The violent ones just need to be executed, as quickly as possible. The non-violent ones need a combination of a sentence of community service/restitution plus very tightly supervised probation with considerable restrictions.
