...that would be "Ab" Snopes in "The Barn Burning"....a lot of these Snopes got the hell out of Yoknapatawpha County and moved to Wall Street in the latter part of the 20th Century.....they figured out it was a lot easier to manipulate stocks and bonds than to burn barns and steal horses....a whole heap more profitable too ;-)
The best Wall St. can hope for next year would be another year of a stalled downturn, which I am not sure they can pull off. So we could see polices directed at opposite directions. Creating more money to spend through lower intereste rates and mortgage rates on the one side, and lower oil price by increasing the supply of oil on the other.
This economy is a hard one to figure out. The housing market is red hot in my neck of the woods. It almost sounds like a mini mania to lock those low interest rates. The herd mentality is still going strong.
