Keeping the minimum wage down so low is another form of slavery. We will always lose the black vote until it is raised.

LOL!

Trust me, there are venture capitalists out there who would GLADLY swallow whatever PC qualms they might have if you could show them how they would make a profit and recover their losses from the dot-bomb fiasco.

And crap in their pants the first time Jesse or Al show up with the pickets

This will be over in a week. People can only be outraged for so long.

In your dreams.

Not until it is accompanied by his stepping down as Majority Leader.

So, Bush was insulted and he accepts Lott's apology and says he should stay, you weren't insulted and you want Lott to quit.

Something's askew.

I agree. I only see divisiveness in a Black ___ ___ (fill in the blanks). Yet I feel they are needed until we make blacks comfortable within our society. We excluded them for years so it is our responsibility to go the extra mile to make all feel included now. BET, miss Black America, NAACP, etc. is a small price to pay for eventual unity.

Raise the minimum wage to $10 / hour and we will have unity and no need for those Black ___ ___'s within ten years or so. It is mostly blacks who can not afford our society that fund these organizations.

Nope. All you gotta do is show that Jesse and Al's pickets do not translate into financial losses.

If the minimum wage were $10 / hour who would take welfare at $4.00 / hour??? Why would the father ever leave in the first place when he could support a family?

Because the GOP senators knew Lott had the votes to win.

If he's been such a weak leader, how come he had enough votes to fend off a challenger?

Tell me something.

If someone's labor isn't worth $10 an hour...you mind explaining to me how they'll get a job?

If you're in a war, and you have an incompetent general, you haul his butt to the rear and put someone into the battle that can fight effectively.

YOU don't haul his butt anywhere. GOP Senators do.

I know you're angry about all this, but Lott keeps getting elected by THE PEOPLE HE WORKS WITH.

Are they all stupid, or what?

Yeah, I bet Condi thought Lott's remarks were a gut-buster. "Ha! Ha! That was a good one Trent. Now come over here so I can shove my heel into your throat."

Hey, let's make the minimum wage $100,000 a year, or $50 an hour.

Naw, let's make it $500 an hour, and everyone's a MILLIONAIRE!

A large number of them are.

Smile. Sounds almost as if you think Trent would know what to do with a whole hour on BET. Hey, we can hope for the best. It is rather ironic that this opened up an avenue of communication to Blacks.

I'll bet not. Do you have evidence of how Condoleezza Rice feels about all this?

A CEO is not worth 1 billion / year yet they get it. I don't see where you have the right to decide that slavery is OK.

There is a point where when someone is paid less that it is in effect slavery. I say that point is around $10 / hour. I base this on the fact that they qualify for some forms of welfare if that make that little or less.

Is it really right that Wallmart is subsidized by the government? Seventy percent or more of their workers get money from the government because they pay so little. I know a Department Manager that recently got fired from Wall Mart so they could replace her with a lower paid employee. After taxes her unemployment benefit is higher than her wages were. Tell me what incentive does she have to get a job in the next six or twelve months. She will continue to get free medical care for her children $398 / month in food stamps $200/ month for electricity/oil. But now she will qualify for medical care for herself as well.

I guarantee her work was worth $10.00 / hour but she wasn't getting it because the minimum wage is at slave labor rates.

Well, I guess we're all doomed.

Everybody knows the free world rises and falls by what goes on in the United States Senate.

I believe you should note that I'm basicly on the same side as you. The comment was made that Lott would not gain any ground with Blacks by his efforts to make ammends for his comments. I stated that he wouldn't lose ground by trying. I do not see his efforts as allienating Blacks further. Do you?
