All this Strom Thurman stuff aside, the fact that the Senate Republican Caucus can't do better than this jellyfish disturbs me. It disturbed me before last week, but now that he is really damaged goods, and what with the inevitable collateral damage caused to the GOP because of him and the fact he STILL won't step aside as Majority Leader or even be challenged from within, tells me that the entire Republican Caucus in the Senate is made up of cowards and weaklings.

Lott is a jellyfish. LONG before this happened, I prayed the Republicans would pick another. The humorous irony is, if the Republicans do succeed in getting a competent conservative to be majority leader, the ones whining the loudest will be those that wanted the head of Trent Lott on a plate.

It didn't look great but now it looks worse.
Lott must do the right thing and step aside, rehabilitate his image, if it's possible, while chairing a committee that he can't collaborate with RATS on to our agenda's disservice - and keep voting with the good of America in mind. At least 73% conserative. (ACU's 'the Lott' rating)
