Why isn't anyone angry that the media has put him in this position. When did "sheets" have to do this?

"Sheets" Byrd is not his party's point man in the Senate. They know enough to limit the media exposure of THEIR dinosaurs.

Sheets *was* Majority Leader in the Senate and is constantly gushingly referred to as "The Conscience of the Senate." And because he senilely waves his little copy of the Constitution in the air (I have the same one and sometimes wave it back when I see him do it on C-SPAM), they bow down and call him a constitutional guru.

Sheets was also President Pro Tempore of the Senate for the past year and a half.

Byrd was both minority and majority leader in the Senate from 1979 to 1989.

History didn't begin last week.
