Most of the "news" media didn't even run the tape when Byrd made his "mistake".

They are trying to say that since Trent Lott has a "history" of doing this that he should resign and that KKK Byrd only made a mistake. Well, EXCUSE ME! But he was in the KKK for goodness sakes!!! I would call that some kind of a past of being a racist.

absolutely no sense of what he has done -

he said he will not step down for something he has been accused of...

he even grads Sen. Simon and Jeffords names in the conference - why?

He can't cloak himself with his buddies, he may not be a racist, he may not be the sharpest knife in the senate...but, man, he has done enormous damage to the Republican party this situation. I can't stand to watch thi sman as the leader of the Republican party in the senate - if we let him stay, we are going to lose in the senate, house, and even the Presidency in 2004. This guy is as politically deaf as Harvey Pitt, Paul O'Neil and Larry Lindsay - time to hit the sack.
