Wait a minute.
Isn't Sharpton meeting with Racicot today?
What if Lott was in on that meeting?
What if Sharpton shows up at this press conference to do two things: publicly accept Lott's apology and explanation and make it clear that Lott is repentant? Then, what if Rev. Al provides absolution for Lott and make it clear that it was he, Sharpton, who finally convinced Lott to "clear the air"?
Whatever occurs, this will be Trent's "come clean" moment where he clears the air and asks for forgiveness from the black community. This is his last chance, and you can bet that the WH told him he has to be perfect and sincere.
I am hoping that they have found a way to make a deal with Sharpton.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
Well, Lott's the guy to do it, when it comes to making deals with the enemy.
Then in that case you better run out and buy a Powerball ticket, because this is your day to win on an improbable gazillion-to-one long shot.
Oy vey, I'm afraid that they've found a way to make a deal with Sharpton. That's what Lott always doescut a deal with the Democrats that advances their agenda, in return for a temporary cease-fire from the media's destruction machine. If Lott wants to stand up and fight, fine; if he wants to fall on the grenade and step down from the leadership for the good of the party, so much the better; but if he wants to sell out the conservative agenda yet again just to save his cushy office, no dice.
