Hahaha! You need to junk your freshman undergrad textbook, my friend. The inverse relationship holds true only if you have confidence in the US economy and the issue is simply asset allocation. But what if the US economy doesn't look so hot, hmm?

I got out of long bonds in May or June. I'd rather be out too soon than too late. Don't you think that the dollar is going lower? That would send foreigners out of bonds. Bill Gross of PIMCO has been recommending German bonds since late spring.

Dangerous times. So dangerous that I bought yet another can of Spam today. Never eat the stuff, but when the world threat is great one must think of stocking the shelter. It's a can of Spam kind of day.
