I've been collecting an annoying series of internet advertising that is OBVIOUSLY fraudulent and VERY persistent. Think of it as the internet answer to Publishers Central Clearing.
TOPICS: Business/Economy; Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: annoyance; fraud; internet; lawsuit; popupads; sue
As much as I dislike the TORT mentality, I even hate annoying fraud even more. If you have the time and chops, I think I have some opportunitie$ for us.
What say?

I agree, I detest judicial jackpot seekers as much as anyone, but internet fraud and harassment such as these deceptive banner ads and spam email are legitimate targets of a lawsuit. I don't care for any monetary relief, but a firm injunction would be excellent.

the Bonzai ads are pretty annoying too, but the ads I'm thinking of are outright lying.

Caveat Emptor. If anyone is dumb enough to respond to a unsolicited offer in an e-mail, then they deserve what they get. Sure the spam is anoying (even with several filters working over-time), but do we really need lawyers to solve a problem best handled by ISP peer pressure?

Give us a hint, ok? What are you seeing? Hey, I'm no lawyer; just curious.
The stupidist one I've seen is an offer to purchase any kind of college degree you want - just call 800... and have your credit card handy, LOL.

They make fraudulent claims that you are the #th visitor to their website or have otherwise been randomly selected - all obviously provable lies.
