INNNNNNTeresting that this practice was considered unhealthy centuries ago...how did they know?

A couple centuries ago, who would want? I mean, when you only bath once a fortnight... eeeewwwwww...

The incidence of oral cancer in this case is only .005%. If there has been a 50% increase, that means that the original incidence was .003%. Yeah, this is an insideous problem, huh? It's also worth mentioning that smoking, chewing, and drinking are also correlated with oral cancer. No mention of these factors in the article. Sloopy science, but if you want to use it to further the puritan crusade, by all means do so, you'll only look silly.

If anyone has ever seen syphilis of the mouth you would get a picture of the risks involved.
When I was working in addictions I heard someone say to have oral sex to prevent HIV..how foolish that was..any opening in the mucosa and you were done

funny thing is, in ancient times (except a select few places, a VERY few) homosexuality was considered unclean, leeches were used for medicine, and in asia bathing once a day was expected.
