Right now this poll is running 51% in favor of it and 49% against it. Pathetic!

Or those who don't want Italy and other countries benefiting from the technology while we potentially can't.

Not sure what they mean by cloning human cells. Are they talking about taking a culture from the inside of a person's cheek or are they talking about cloning embryos? This question isn't very clear.

This poll is from a Connecticut paper. However Stanford University just announced today that they are going to clone human embryos! Outrageous.

And who cares if the Italians profit on this research? Make a deal with the devil, and you will have to dance to his tune.

Mainly all the OTHER countries that will be doing it too, and competing against Italy while we pat ourselves on the back for missing out.

Not to get anything started, but personally I am for the research, just without using embryos. I guess the poll can be taken different ways.

Suppose a cure/treatment for Parkinson's disease, alzheimers disease, multiple sclerosis, paralysis, or other ailments, would it be unethical to use them to better your life and/or the life of your loved ones?

I absolutely agree...there is a big difernence between cloning human cells and cloning humans. The possible benifits from this research outweighs the possible harm caused by it.

I agree. However, I beleive they mean cloning w/embryos. IE....a couple dozen more of me (Dear God!!) running around. But, your point is well taken, and I do agree with it.
