Looks to me like she acquitted herself pretty well, and did a fine job of representing us. Can anyone imagine how this would have been handled by that sweaty little Sandy Berger who held the job under Clinton? He probably would have told the general that the threat could be forgotten for another $1 million in campaign contributions.

That's the differnece between the Bush Administration and the Clinton Administration: The Clinton Adminsitration swept the threat under the rug.
The Bush Administration's National Security Advisor, when this guy came in, promptly told him when they complained about our support for Taiwan, "Yob tvoyu maht, Xiong. We're going to have you pass something on like you had Charles Freeman pass something on to us. We didn't like your threat to nuke L.A. Coering Taiwan is unacceptable. Furthermore, we are putting you on notice that we expect your help in dealing with North Korea."
