It is the news no child wants to hear-and certainly not from the mouth of a vicar.

Youngsters at a Chirstmas carol servcie were devasated when the Reverend Lee Mayfield told them that Santa Claus was dead.

Bah humbug to the vicar. Children believe in fantasy and make-believe for such a short amount of time. Why deny them Santa while they are young and the world is still magical in their eyes?

Thanks for the post. Of course, saint (meaning believer) Nicolas isn't dead; through Jesus Christ he has eternal life! He has simply passed from this world. The santa myth always puzzles believers and non believers. I think it should be laid to rest as soon as possible in a child's development. Merry Christmas to all! Avery
