Carter takes swipe at Bush at Nobel ceremony
December 10 2002 at 03:38PM
Oslo - Former United States president Jimmy Carter on Tuesday received the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to him in recognition of decades of work as international peace mediator.
Nobel Committee chairperson Gunnar Berge handed him the prize at a formal ceremony in Oslo's city hall, with Carter's family and Norway's King Harald and Queen Sonja looking on.
Carter, 78, in an acceptance speech prepared for delivery at the ceremony, took a swipe at US policy towards Iraq, warning that a so-called preventative war could have "catastrophic" consequences, but stopped short of actually naming the United States or Iraq.
At a separate ceremony in Stockholm later in the day, the winners of the Literature, Medicine, Physics, Chemistry and Economics prizes will receive their awards from King Carl XVI Gustaf in Stockholm's Concert Hall. - Sapa-AFP

Carter doesn't notice the preemptive and unilateral actions taken by nations such as Iraq. He also doesn't notice American pilots flying under UN mandate being shot at.

And his and every other collectivist' dream is to re-distribute the wealth from the producers to those who produce nothing. At the point of a gun, ultimately.
As opposed to stimulating and developing markets, creating opportunities and education worldwide.

So Jimmy...now what was all that about in Korea...the magnificent nuclear treaty...the agreement ensure that North Korea never built anything nuclear...etc? They actually wrote this magnificent North Korean nuclear treaty as part of his winning nomination....too bad it just wasn't true. Even Jimmy knows that now.

Miss Lillian Carter had two sons.
One was a bumbling doofus no one took seriously.
The other had a beer named after him.

Just shows what lack of decorum arsewipes our Dem ex-presidents are.
Clinton has forsaken any pretense of assuming a tactful role as an ex-president "statesman" and is now playing a Machiavellian backroom role as leader of the Dem party.
Carter ...the man who forfeited Nicaragua and Iran with resulting dire consequences from the latter in particular now wishes to bleat about foreign policy ad nauseum.....as if he knows Jack. Maybe Fidel can give him a seaside villa to retire to and STFU!

Of course he took another swipe at the U.S. and Bush...
jimmuh got the prize on the installment plan, his previous sell-outs of his country weren't enough, they wouldn't give him the prize unless he sold out his country publicly during the ceremony: all part of his deal with the European Socialist Elite. jimmuh keeps their asses sparking clean with his tongue...

Marxist or what? For a mind like Jimma it is class against class, rather than realising that that he is being paid off by those who promote a static and illiterate third world.
Carter is a World Class Poverty Pimp.

... warning that a so-called preventative war could have "catastrophic" consequences, but stopped short of actually naming the United States or Iraq. "Preventative war" is the new liberal bullshit spin. The islamic world declares war on us in arabic every day in their newspapers, TV shows, and mosques. They have waged war off-and-on against us since the early 1990s and the klinton era. This isn't "preventative war", it's long-overdue payback.
And we've already experienced "catastrophic consequences" from Jimmah's half-assed principles and policies.

LOL, I'm sure ex-Pres Carter would have been in the same boat with Joseph P. Kennedy re: the U.S. getting involved in WWII.
What a complete LOSER. I had always thought Carter was a good man (albeit horrible president), but lately he's proven himself to be as classless and petty as Al Gore and Bill "Rapist" Clinton.
To: blam
One of the nearly universal unwritten rules for ex-presidents is that they don't overtly dump on the guy currently in office even if he is a member of the opposing party. Even Clinton - EVEN BILL CLINTON - respects this rule (mostly). NOBODY dumped on Carter for the Iran fiasco, not Reagan, not Bush, not ex-presidents at the time such as Nixon and Ford.
Jimmuh is losing his benign image as being well-intentioned but befuddled. Now he's just befuddled.
