A remarkably unified black vote and the "Clyde factor" figured in election results in Rapides Parish on Saturday.

Pre-election opinion polls had indicated almost 91 percent support for Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu from black voters. But even that high estimate may have been low.

Now, Holloway will think that he can challenge Alexander in 2004 and win back his home precincts. But can he? Once an incumbent gets settled into office, LA voters tend to rally behind him. Alexander could be there for many, many years.

If that a-hole Holloway ran in '04 I would hope that he gets soundly defeated, either by another Republican or Alexander if necessary, that or if he gets into the runoff the other Republicans don't endorse him and complain he was mean. I hate sore losers.
