Musician to make album of sex noises (HOLD MUH BEER, ERM, ALBUM ALERT)

An electronic musician from Winnipeg, Canada is making an album out of the noises he and his partner make during sex.

Aaron Funk and his girlfriend Rachael Kozak recorded their love-making sessions on mini-disk.

Funk, who normally records under the name Venetian Snares, sampled the noises and turned them into music.

The album, to be called Nymphomatriarch, is due to be released next year.

"People I've played it for don't believe it," Funk told a forthcoming issue of Playboy.

"They're like: "No, no, no - you've sampled high hats there, I know it." It's essentially alchemy, shaping sex into a new form.

"It's weird to deconstruct the sounds of sex. It makes you conscious of a lot of stuff you'd normally ignore. I remember thinking, like, oh, that slap will make a good snare drum.

"Or, wow, that was a freakish set of grunts and moans - I want to make that into a choir later."

Songs completed so far include Hymen Tramp Choir, Pervs, and Blood on the Rope.

Didn't Donna Summer do that in the Disco era with "Love to Love you Baby"? Those kind of songs are just annoying. But it goes to show that people in the music business nowadays have absolutely no imagination or talent.

In the late 80's, I happened to be on many a session with Luke Sky Walker of 2 Live Crew recording the "ambience" of him doing 3 chicks in the studio. We recorded all the "tracks" and shelved it.

We were stoned at the time and it was a unique experience to say the least.

This clown from Canada is a day late and a dollar short.

Now I'm a Republican....go figure.

Among the sounds recorded were the following cuts;

1."Is it always that small?"

2."Damn, woman! When did you last shave your legs?"

3."Ohh Alan!" "Uh, my name is Aaron..."

4."Aaggh! Cramp! Cramp! Cramp!"

5."Aaron, you need to clean the cobwebs off your ceiling."

6."I don't care if he is your best friend, Aaron. Your dog can't watch!"

In the interlude to Rocket Queen from the Guns & Roses album Appetite For Distruction, Axl had the producer record him boinking a girl in the studio. The producer(cant remember his name) said he turned the equipment on and left the room - had no interest in being anymoe involved.

Saaaaaaaaaaay....anyone here remember Donna Summer's "Love to Love You Baby"?

Yes. IIRC, her noises were ... uhhhh ... mechanically induced.

I don't think I want to ask how you came by this knowledge. ;)

As you might have inferred from my travel hint following that statement, a corporate travel arranger reserved me a room for a business trip many years ago. Combine a late night arrival and unfamiliarity with the city --- voila, I ended up spending one night in one of these 'establishments'. Never again. The rest of the trip was spent in a real motel.

Well, I think we can guess the inspiration for Bach's "Air on a G string...."
