NYC Conservative Book Readers Club
Posted on 12/08/2002 2:34:43 PM PST by Corsica Bella
I am looking for a conservative book readers club to join in NYC (Manhattan). If anybody knows of one, please let me know. If one doesn't exist, I'd like to start one with like-minded conservatives. If interested in joining, contact me. I've been advertising in the classified section of National Review.

This is a good idea! Please keep me posted if you find one or start one.

That is a good idea. But I think you should start one yourself since it would be pretty surprising if there was such a club in liberal Manhattan.

Lord, I wish I had time.

Welcome to FR. If you stick around here a while, you may get too addicted to have time for a book club, though. Run while you can!

I'll keep you posted. I'll start a club if one doesn't already exist that I can join and if there is a sufficient number of conservatives interested.

If no club exists in Manhattan, and enough conservatives are interested, I will start a book readers club. I personally have a lot of conservative resouces such as books, magazines, websites, etc. What is lacking is personal contact. Most of the people I know are liberals. Besides, there are not enough activities around which conservatives can come together in Manhattan. I think there is value to the idea of a group of conservatives meeting on a regular basis for an intelligent discussion of issues based on reading great conservative books, both classic and contemporary.
