Let's all draw inspiration from Hootie Johnson's defense of common-sense values!
The Charles de Nunzio Review ^ | 8th December 2002 | Charles M. de Nunzio

If I may be so bold as to promote one of my own pieces here, go to my "Open Letter to William 'Hootie' Johnson" and see why I am convinced this issue has become such a big deal.

More importantly, I urge those in agreement with what I've written to find ways, both on our own, and together, to take Hootie Johnson's example and DUPLICATE it in our own lives. The enemy realizes that this is a potential momentum-stopper for them and momentum-builder for us, so let us not blow this opportunity! Let's not just sit around rooting for Hootie, and allow ourselves to be dispirited in the event that he is overcome....

Hootie is in the front lines of the culture war. CdNR, you have made a good argument for standing on principle. It is the right thing to do in every case. Those who compromise away their rights, compromise away our rights. This may appear to make sense in the view of short term gain or in the cases where there is a need to minimize short term loss. But invariably, the near term intersts of giving in for now extract a price plus interest in the long term.

The multiculturalists are the cultural bullies pushing us backwards. Each time we take a step back to avoid conflict, we lose the respect and confidence of our society, sap the spirit of our warriors, and give confidence and energy to our enemies. We will have to fight or watch our culture die, one avoided conflict at a time. The only question is, "Do we take our stand here, at Augusta, or do we delay the fight until we are backed even further from our original line of defense"....conservative values as based upon the Bible and the Constitution.

The "Battle of Augusta" has nothing to do with any form of equality. It has everything to do with the egregious hegemony of the Nineteenth Amendment to the US Constitution and what color the tile in the clubhouse bathrooms will be.

If Hootie gives in, it will be the "Gelding" of America!

most people don't know this, but that creature marsha burk actually wrote an article in ms magazine just a few years ago advocating the forced sterilization of all men at age 18, unless and until they could persuade a 'committee' of right minded ministers such as her to undo such.

i kid you not.

and this is what we're battling?

It's early yet, but the response so far is encouraging. Keep spreading the word!

There is no chance in hell we can win the culture war unless and until we appreciate several basic facts, one of which is that the P.C. minions are waging a war of extermination against Christian common sense. Our response MUST be proportionate to both the depth of their evil intent and the extensiveness of their existing influence....

For many of us, however, the evil forces are already too overwhelming to engage the enemy directly, as Hootie is able to do -- in which case, it is time to let go of the illusions that we live in a "free" and "Christian" country and instead go ahead and take on the mindset of those unfortunate folk who suffered under such regimes as Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany. It is time to think in terms of underground means of resistance. Look around you: just how different is the current American political and moral culture from those dreadful historical precedents?

I do not mean to sound defeatist, but rather realistic. Concerned conservatives still try to hang their hopes on political leaders, activism, and large-scale mass-media campaigns, but considering just the last ten years of American cultural history -- even despite the accessibility as never before of outlets for disseminating our message like talk radio and the Internet -- what is there left to conserve? I dare ask everyone to consider that perhaps we have a better chance to have an impact if we save our energy by concentrating on those who naturally fall within our individual personal spheres of influence, particularly if we don't quite have the resources and leverage of an Augusta National.

Yet, most critical of all, we cannot begin to hope for such positive impact until each one of us gets our CONSCIENCES in order. Are we living according to the laws of God and nature, and whenever we fail in this regard, do we make use of the means God gave us to remedy ourselves? The loss of freedom, surely, is an evil. The loss of our souls, on the other hand, is immeasurably worse.
