SACRAMENTO(AP) - A snapshot of some of the $10.2 billion in budget cuts proposed Friday by Gov. Gray Davis. The changes are subject to approval by the Legislature.
EDUCATION: Immediately cuts education funds by 3.7 percent and forces local school districts to decide how to trim more than $1 billion from their annual budgets. Davis also proposed $1.7 billion in cuts to specific programs, totaling $3 billion in cuts over the current and coming fiscal years.
